لأن الدوال abstract لا يمكن أن تحتوي على bodies للدوال والمعلمات الافتراضية هي شيء يمكن تنفيذه فقط إذا كان لديك جسم دالة.

abstract class Atom {
    abstract foo(x:any=null); // Cannot have an implementation
